Why we exist

Bandanas get ordered as merchandise, quoted on colour and print position, and shipped in one size.

So the transfer print cracks and peels within a season, into a mouth. The hem frays after a month of weekly washing. The sleeve will not go over the salon’s own collars because nobody asked how wide they were. And the red one turns a white coat pink the first time it rains.

Fastening is a safety choice

Over-collar sleeve for anything worn unsupervised — crated, boarded, in day care, or working in cover. There is no knot to tighten and nothing left on the dog if the collar releases.

Tie-on for supervised wear: an event, a photograph, a walk with the owner. Break-away snaps when you want the adjustability of a tie without a permanent knot; the snap is engineered to pop open under load, which a riveted metal stud will not do. We fit break-away as standard and note it on the quote if you ask for metal instead.

Size it to the collar, not to the dog

An over-collar bandana is a sleeve, so there are two measurements: neck circumference and the WIDTH of the collar strap.

Strap width is the one everybody forgets, and it is the one that decides whether the sleeve physically goes on. A sleeve cut for a fifteen millimetre puppy strap will not pass over a forty millimetre strap however large the triangle is. We ask for both.

The real specification is the wash

These get chewed, dragged through mud and washed weekly, often hot. Dye sublimation puts the colour into the fibre, so it survives that indefinitely. Plastisol and vinyl transfers sit on top, crack, and peel — into a mouth.

Hems are double-stitched, because a single-fold hem frays within a month. And the fabric is colourfast, tested wet, because a saturated red or navy sitting against a white coat in the rain is a complaint waiting to happen.
