Snap-Fastened Dog Bandanas

Snaps sit between the two other styles. They adjust across a range of neck sizes like a tie, they go on and off in a second, and — if the snap is the right one — they release under load instead of holding fast.

That last part is the whole point, and it is where cheap bandanas quietly cut the corner. A riveted metal press stud does not release. A break-away plastic snap pops open at a load well below anything that would hurt a dog, which is exactly the behaviour you want on a snagged bandana.
